Simple White Guest Rooms

emmas

We have guests coming from Paris to stay with us next week and so I’m going to spend a good part of the weekend getting things ready for them. (And dusting off my French! Eek!) It seems like I redo the guest room each time we have a guest and this time is no different! You might remember I added some green to the guest room less than 3 months ago.  Well these days, I’m really into the idea of a really simple, all white (surprise, surprise!) room like these.

I like this idea of a guest/magazine storage room! Would you enjoy staying in one of these? What’s your idea of a nice guest room?

I hope you have some summer fun planned for your weekend. See you again on Monday!

White Seating With White Art Wall

dressdesign

This is a look I never get tired of – a predominantly white art wall behind a white seat.

I’ve been considering creating this look in my studio where I have a couch draped in white.

But I have so many things on the walls in there, I don’t want it to be overwhelming.

I think it’s a look that could work just about anywhere.

Don’t you think?

White & Dreamy

Some white loveliness to start off your week  . . . because I can never get enough of white bedrooms. Never!

And hey, I just moved this mirror over our bed too! I’ll take some photos for you this week.

And thank you all for your nice comments about the new site! If you do see any problems, please give me a shout. It would help me out a lot. Thanks! I also want to point out that you can now follow my blog like in all of the Blogspot/Blogger blogs. Just click on the little box to the right that says “Join this site.” (It uses the term “join” instead of “follow” but it’s the same thing.) And I know it’s totally lame following my own blog but I wanted to get the ball rolling. :”>

Please bear with me this week as I work through all this technical stuff. It’s not my thing at all and I’m ready to be done with it! Merci beaucoup!

Benjamin Noriega Ortiz

I realized the other day that I hadn’t written a post about Benjamin Noriega Ortiz and I couldn’t believe it because I kind of think of him as the king of white rooms – and you know how much I love a white room. This all white house in the Hamptons is my favorite of his projects.

I also love his work at the Mondrian Hotels:

He has a book that I’d like to buy but I haven’t seen any reviews. Does anyone have this book? Can anyone point me to some reviews?

All White Bedrooms

We have an all white bedroom at the moment: white bed, white walls, white shades, . . . I used lots of different textures to make it interesting but it’s lacking something.  I was thinking yellow wallpaper on one wall but now I’m having second thoughts. There’s just something so serene about an all white room that I want to try to make it work without adding color, like these rooms:
