Mamma Mia

I know I’m way behind here but this blog is how I keep ideas organized for myself and I need to put this in my “Cabin” category for future reference. I finally watched “Mamma Mia” on DVD a couple of weeks ago and like most of the design world, I totally fell for the interiors. It’s the sort of bohemian look I have in mind for our cabin so I scoured the internet looking for photos.

I never thought I’d like a blue bed.

Yellow bench with striped upholstery? Yes, please.

All the patterns and textiles were swoon-worthy. I can’t wait to bring out all of mine and use them!

There was a post at Design Sponge on it, including two mood boards based on these looks. There was also another post at Silver Screen Surroundings with a great roundup of patterns by Josef Frank, some of which were used in the film. (And you know how much I adore him.)

As for the movie itself, I didn’t expect to like it very much because I’d seen the show on Broadway an embarrassing number of times and enjoyed it so much but it was actually quite entertaining. Did you see it? Did you take note of the interiors too? Shall we all run off to Greece and open a taverna?
