This antique mirror wasn’t doing it for me in the living room so I moved it into my dressing room and I’m liking it so much better.
That little changed motivated me to tidy up in there, including organizing my jewelry which is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. (It was dark and gloomy out all weekend so sorry for the less than stellar photos.)
I wanted to make it quick and easy and just do it using what I had (so I couldn’t find another excuse to put it off). I had this old jewelry tree from (I think) Ikea which works well for longer necklaces. Then, I wanted a way to stack thicker bracelets and bangles so I grabbed these candlesticks that were floating around and that did the trick. In the drawer below, I used some left over drawer divider/organizers and also one actual jewelry box.
I’ll upgrade all this to something prettier and fancier down the road but for now I’m loving just having everything where I can see it.
I did find these pretty boxes recently (a bargain at Home Goods!) and they’re perfect for pearls and other pieces I don’t wear much and don’t need to have out.
This is the view to the the other side of the mirror. This room is an odd shape – sort of a U – so it’s hard to get one full shot.
It feels so good to check this off of my to do list. It’s made getting accessorized so much easier. Makes me wonder why I didn’t do it sooner!
Do you have any closet organization tips to share?
