I have such a treat for you today!
Christine Elia is the founder and CEO of Closet Couture and we became fast friends when she moved to Atlanta a couple of years ago. She and her husband Eric Simon, an executive, bought a beautiful, classic house which, like all older homes, needed some updating; it needed Chris’ touch. And unlike some of us (ahem) she wasted no time and just got it done. You would never know from the looks of it but she decorated this house in less than a year! She’s invited FTRB on a tour so let’s go…..
The foyer is a stunner and yes, the walls are aubergine. The color is Benjamin Moore Eggplant.
Did I mention she’s gutsy? When you have good taste, being daring really pays off. More proof is in the pink grasscloth for the stairwell:
It was hard to capture the texture with the lighting but here’s an iPhone snapshot which surprisingly got the job done:
It was a brilliant choice. And because I know you’re asking who makes pink grasscloth? it’s by Thibault.
Another peek into the living room from the entry.
She found a lot of the antique furniture like this dining room set at our favorite Atlanta market, Scott’s.
Would you believe all this millwork in the family room used to be dark wood:
Benjamin Moore Dior Gray lightened everything up.
The one room she did not have to touch was this toile fantasy bedroom:
The walls, furniture, drapes…..everything is covered in this coral toile. No one does this kind of thing anymore and they totally should!
I couldn’t tear myself away from this room the first time I saw it!
Here’s a guest room that did get a facelift:
as well as the eat-in space in the kitchen:
Finally, the screened-in porch with vintage rattan furniture that she had reupholstered:
Thanks, Chris, for inviting us into your beautiful home! I’m so happy to be the one to show it off!
