Did you see John Derian’s newly renovated Manhattan apartment featured in the New York Times? The article was titled The Makeunder which was absolutely perfect because preserving the patina and character of the1850s building was his most important objective. I think he did an amazing job.

It is what I would have imagined his home to look like; all of the quirks and charms are reminiscent of his stores.

Loved these new images. What is clear is that John Derian’s aesthetic is not just for the purpose of his shop; he lives and breaths the undone, antique look and the results are just lovely.

This look is perfect for his Provincetown house but I don’t think it’s right for Manhattan. I kind of feel like I’ve seen it before. I do love the living room though.

Nuts for John’s home! Looks like stepping back in time but with a few creature comforts. Three cheers for his use of brass in his bathroom too. Thanks for posting Ally, I did miss this.

Sending all my best to you!
