Bamboo Table Makeover

Another little project I got done this weekend was painting this bamboo side table. As usual, I ditched my first idea (which was red or cobalt). Instead I went with orange. I used two cans of Krylon Pumpkin Orange (seems appropriate enough this time of year, right?) and it was just enough paint to have a little of the black still showing through. I didn’t plan on that but it gave it a sort of aged look which I don’t hate so I’m trying it out as is for now.
To refresh your memory, it looked like this before:

And here it is now in the family room:

I like it well enough for now. But I may try light blue at some point down the road. Oh, the endless fun you can have with spray paint…..

It looks like natural wicker from my screen. I like it!
How funny – now that you say that it sort of looks that way to me too. It’s probably a little brighter in person but definitely not the bright orange I thought I was getting. I kind of like it too.
let me know if you ever want to part with that lil piece. donna
Love the effect with a bit of the black coming through. To me, the super-painted look is starting to feel a little tired. This looks so much more authentic!
I’ll take credit for it then even if it was totally unintentional.
Oh what a lovely idea to do orange, it almost looks like the natural bamboo color but with more pizazz!
