A Uniquely Italian Vacation House

I have a real love of historical dwellings and I think the native architecture of the Puglia region of Italy known as trulli is one of the most charming in the world. Dating back 200 to 300 years, they were originally used by farmers but in more recent years, they have become popular as vacation homes.
Here is one example of a great trullo conversion.

Check out that curved ceiling…..

fantastic stone floors…..

exposed walls…..

And the decor is just spot on. Antique pieces juxtaposed against pops of modern always works for me.

The decking around the pool is very cool too.

I just love seeing historical homes given new life especially when it’s done this well.

Lovely! I love the Moroso chair in the fourth picture, and the kitchen.
Wow. Really love this… and that pool! Wish I could be there right now.
Lovely! we finally bought our first house, and suburbuan living versus the confines our our NYC studio has allowed for the inspiration to flow! Always get a lot of great ideas from your pictures!
Puglia is on my list of places to visit.
It’s great to see a renovation that respects the bones of the house.
The floors are amazing.
