Art Walls, Part 17

In case there was any doubt that all I think about is art walls…..
A few weeks ago, we were watching one of our new favorite shows, Sherlock, (Do you watch it? It’s so good!) and while the story was intriguing, when this scene opened, I was like “Stop! Hold everything!”

I then ran and got my phone and started snapping pictures. Then I played the scene in slow motion. (The whole time the husband was like “Um, what’s happening right now? I thought we were watching tv.”) I didn’t have time for silly questions because I couldn’t take my eyes off of this fantastic art wall. All the vintage pieces and mixed frames against that wallpaper is a great combination. But the thing that gives it such big impact is that it completely fills the wall, even spilling over onto the adjacent wall.
Here are some other walls with big impact:

And here’s the beginnings of an art wall I’m helping a friend put together:

It’s going to take up an entire wall and look amazing.
I’m also working on several walls for myself. This is just some of the art currently taking over my house:

I am just up to my neck in art these days!

OMG, another house with artwork stacked up against the walls! I’m not the only one!
And this isn’t even half of it!
love this so much–i wish i could do it! i always execute grouped art so badly–it always looked cluttered when i do it.
Love this post. As a museum professional, I have to tell you when it is stacked against the wall you should stack your art work front to front and back to back. That way you don’t have wires or hanging mechinisms going through paintings or scratching glass.
That’s excellent advice. Thank you for sharing!
OMG I am so in love with art walls too! Def looking to incorporate one into my new home . These are great, I love the dining room one.
Good grief FTRB, this post made a round trip through the ‘verse. My wife shared it on Facebook from another source! Space-time is warping around here I tell ya’.
Oh, that’s so funny! You just can’t escape!
The Paul Richard drip painting is what’s making that wall look amazing in the first Atlanta homes photo ! I have his drip on my wall! Love it. For possible art photography, for your new wall, please check out http://www.talfoto.com
