Homes I Love: A Villa in Malibu

Of all the homes I love, I think this home has the most amazing mix of old/new and modern/traditional elements I’ve ever seen. The owner Richard Shapiro (who is referred to as an “antiques impresario”) designed and built this house himself and I’m just in awe of his vision and style.

Of course, all of the art and artifacts collected from around the world really speak to me and what about all the great contrasting features like that unbelievable staircase? The owner built this as his weekend house and I decided it’s going to be the inspiration for my vacation house too. I believe in dreaming big!

I posted about this beautiful house some time ago and the images I took from AD Magazine. Now, your images are really special, thanks for sharing.
Love specially the stair.
Have a nice Tuesday.

It was in AD too? I’ll have to come and see – I always like to see as many photos of a house as possible.
The lighter rooms are very John Saladino-esque, but it is the darker ones, particularly that dreamy library that have captured me!
Breathtaking view, gorgeous garden, and that kitchen! What’s not to love
