Homes I Love: Hollywood Hills Hacienda
*Somehow the comments were turned off earlier but they are now on. (Clearly I’m still working out all the tech issues.)

After years of being stumped when asked to describe my style, I finally came up with the term “global modern.” It’s hard to give a precise definition; I think if you’re familiar with my style, you understand what I mean by it. I also don’t come across many homes that I would describe in the same style but Mario Testino’s L.A. home is definitely one.

It’s filled with furniture, art and objects he’s collected from his travels around the world, including many from his native Peru.

It’s an amazing mix of traditional and modern all brought together in a really fresh way.

I kind of wish he had photographed it without the models but since he is a fashion photographer and it was for Vogue, it makes sense. And I must say I do like the outfits, especially the last one.

Does it speak to you as much as it does to me?

The impact he got out of these rooms is pure genius. There is so much in them but yet everything compliments one another so it doesn’t become overwhelming. The colour palette is beautiful (I want to makeout w/those yummy bleu velvet chairs) & all the artwork, oh my I could go on forever. I told my boyfriend right after I had bought this issue of Vogue that I want us to move into a 1930′s Spanish hacienda. Which would mean moving out of Washington. I don’t think he’s taking to the idea quite yet.
“Global modern” = genius.
