Color Palette for the Master Bedroom

I’m almost ready to start working on the poor neglected master bedroom. I surprised myself with the color palette I decided on: varying shades of blues and reds with a lot of white. How did I decide on this combination?
It started with a pair of D. Porthault shams that I bought in Paris this past summer. This is the pattern and it has a blue trim:

I had actually bought these for one of the guest rooms but decided they had to go in the master!
You may remember the walls are painted Benjamin Moore “Bunny Gray” (like the dining room) which has a light blue undertone. Here’s a picture of the paint going on before we moved in:
Here’s one more red and blue bedroom for inspiration:

Every time I’ve ever put color in the bedroom I ended up taking it out but I’m in a colorful mood these days so it may just stick this time!

This is my favorite color combo! Always has been and probably always will be
Really? It’s your favorite combo? How cool. I’ll try to do right by it.
Hope all is well with you, Carla!
Love your color palette Ally and those Porthault shams are wonderful!

Ally…I will believe it when I see it
I love the direction though!
loving this palette! my master bedroom would be done if i could just find some wallpaper that worked for me!
Oh yeah, the old wallpaper problem. My problem is the opposite – there are too many that would work for me.
Love the color combo. I used it in my dining room. I’m all for color!! It will look great!
Your dining room is so cozy and cute! Another room to assure me of color choice.
Thanks!
Okay, we are kindred spirits, Ally. My bedroom is red and cobalt blue with lots and lots of white. Love your D. Porthault linens.
No way! Have you posted pics and did I miss it? I love all these assurances that I’ve picked the right colors.
Love the colour pallette you have chosen + the wallpaper is so pretty! Can’t wait to see how it turns out xx
Blue is a wonderful choice for your bedroom. I love the tranquility – beautiful
