A Living Room Update
Before all hell broke loose, I was busy making a bunch of little changes around the house. Here’s what’s been happening in the living room.

The Hicks hexagon rug that I had originally bought for this room (but put in the dining room) is back. This is the most formal room of the house and my goal for it is to be as warm as possible. This rug helps because there’s more floor coverage than the shag that was in here before.
The art wall is also filling out nicely:

I added a few new pieces and moved some around and it’s almost where I want it. It’s a really tricky wall because of the millwork (I’m trying to keep the nailing to just the trim) so I must have rearranged it a million times.
I also added this guy:

I know I’m hovering dangerously close to “crazy bulldog lady” territory (I have to show you the other Frenchie things I got recently) but I don’t care! He looks just like mine and it makes me smile every time I look at it. I got it a while ago from a guy at the Lakewood Antique Market which, by the way, was a total disappointment. I had heard some good things about it but didn’t think it was worth the drive.
That’s it for now. Thanks so much again for all the kind comments and keeping my spirits up during a pretty hellish week. The thought of losing three years of blogging was so freaking scary but thank goodness I was able to get all my posts back. About half of my images are still missing but I hope I can get those restored over the next week or so. But this weekend, I think I deserve to kick back and do absolutely nothing!
Have a good one, friends.

Looking great! No judgement from me for the pillow. If I could find a pug one I’d totally rock it. Your art is fantastic too. I still remember your arrangement from your DS Sneak Peek. It’s fun seeing it reinterpreted in a new home.
Love your changes Ally…..that wall is looking quite smashing!!!
The pillow is perfect. He fits right in!
Every room needs something in it that makes you smile. Have a good weekend and yes you deserve to take it easy!
Nicety nice. Love it all. ‘Specially the bulldog’s furry mug!~
Hi Ally, I’m so happy that you have managed to get your blog up and running again. What an awful experience! I think you more than deserve to relax this weekend!
The room looks beautiful! And I’d be all over a beagle pillow if I could find one.
I love it Ally! Your impressive art and the mix of the Lucite coffee table! Adore your dog pillow!

Awesome! Love the personal touch too! Those frames are gorgeous!
I love what you’re doing, and I love your thought bubbles and how you share your creative process.

Thank you so much, Valorie!
Thank you so much, everyone!
i am dying over that art wall!!!! i LOVE it!
Love the hippo. Is that the Jonathan Adler one?
I actually got him in Zimbabwe. It’s solid wood and weighs a ton! Bringing that back in our luggage was fun.
Good to have you back! Love that wall.
That’s so funny as I just bought myself a bulldog pillow too and posted it on my blog. I do have dogs, but neither is a bulldog! Your space looks great!
Love this palette and the art composition! So much to like about this new look! P.S. Glad to know that technology “glitches” aren’t always permanently fatal. Way to pick yourself back up!
Thank you, Katiya! It was NOT easy but yes, thank goodness most disasters can be repaired.
I love the hexagons and needlework!
Love your art wall …just relish being a dog lover. I decorated my sister’s house around all her Boston Terrier items and it’s got personality!
I’d love to see that!
Feel your pain….I had the same situation a few years back.
Great are wall and chandelier. Very pretty!
Thanks and thanks for stopping by!
Ally!!!!! Beutiful! Especially love your art wall. Very, very nice.
Welcome back from your trip. Sorry I have not been here for a while. Blog hopping is sufffering while I am busy with other stuff. Will tell later.
I picked up a little something for you in Stockholm. Ever heard of Svensk Tenn? (: (No, it is not a tray or a pillow).
Happy Sunday!
ox, Mon
Glad to see the blog is okay and am loving your art wall
Ooh, I love the coffee table – and the dog pillow of course!

Yes, it is.
