The Blog Is (Hopefully) Being Rebuilt

Okay, guys, so here’s the scoop on what’s been happening with this blog.

There was some weird stuff going on this weekend and when I looked into it, it turned out it had been hacked. I spent most of Monday trying to fix it but didn’t have any luck. So yesterday I decided to just reinstall everything new. That sounded good in theory but WordPress failed me big time and either didn’t export everything or won’t import everything. Either way, what that means is that a good chunk of my archives is missing and where the posts are not missing, the images are. That’s why the site is so bare and full of broken links. But at least you can see the blog now (which wasn’t the case most of yesterday).

So. The next thing I’m going to do is try and piece the archives back together with various backups I have. Keep in mind that I’m not tech-y at all so there’s a real possibility that my archives may be gone forever.  That would seriously blow so I’m going to not freak out and give it my best shot. And whether with or without the archives, regular blogging will resume tomorrow, I promise. I’ve had enough of this!

To those of you who emailed and left comments, thank you. It meant a lot to me to hear from you when I was ready to pull my hair out!

P.S. The photo is of Tricia Guild’s farmhouse in Tuscany that’s currently for sale (via Architectural Digest).  It has nothing to do with this post but I needed something pretty to look at on the front page of the blog!
