La Bastide de Moustiers, Provence
Thanks for all the really thoughtful and interesting comments on yesterday’s post. I really appreciated hearing your thoughts!

We are thinking about adding Provence to our travel calendar this year and if we do, I know the perfect place to stay. La Bastide de Moustiers is an inn with the very finest dining set among olive groves and lavender fields. Honestly, what more could a francophile ask for? Okay, maybe a charming room with typical Provencal decor. Well it has those too:

Yup, I think we may need to make this happen.

Hmmm, aren’t you forgetting one tiiiny detail? That the restaurant is run by…Alain Ducasse!
I just googled it and you would be a mere two hour drive from Arles…although we have some pretty el swanko hotels too…L’Hotel Particulier, L’Oustau de Baumaniere…NOT in the middle of the lavender fields though and that can’t be beat.
It goes without saying that if you decide to come to Provence, I will gleefully help you with ideas!
Mais oui, c’est Ducasse! That’s what I meant by “the finest dining.”
If Provence does happen, you’ll be my first call!
BEAUTIFUL! I wish I could click my heels and be there…..
This just beckons for a get away! I might never come home!!!
Hope you are able to make it happen!

Oh isn’t it dreamy?
Oh isn’t it just the dreamiest?
I think I could be very happy there! Maybe do a little painting, a lot of wine drinking and much sleeping by the pool!
yup – that’s pretty much perfection right there!
Ah, Provence! If only our travels were taking us to Europe soon. Hope your plan comes to fruition so we can all live vicariously! That inn looks divine. Though I think I’d be happy sleeping in a tent in Provence!
you must make it happen! so lovely there.
Will be in Provence in February, alas all my favorite hotels are closed !!
That’s the downside of traveling there in winter, isn’t it? But on the upside – no crowds!
This looks gorgeous! J and are debating between going to Provence or the Amalfi Coast this year. If we choose the former, I’ll definitely look into staying here!
Hi, my name is Heather! Please email me when you can, I have a question about your blog!
Wow!! This is pure bliss..
i’m pretty sure i could sleep there!
I “call” the room with the red striped curtains…or the room with the purple rug.
Wow. Pretty swell.

i am planning a trip this year for my big 50… and i will look into this…
wishing you the most wonderful year darling ally… miss you… xx
how pretty! I absolutely loved Provence when I was there for about a week. The lifestyle is so dreamy – morning markets, a simple lunch of baguette, cheeses, fresh fruit on the terrace with white or rose wine, and hot afternoons spent in and out of the pool. Dinners out of this world, antique shopping – what else could a girl ask for?
I hope you will be traveling there this year!
Just thought I would pass along this info….
A friend of mine, Dirk and his wife Catherine own Bascom & Chick a touring company in the South of France. They host a Mini Cooper Driving Tour and a Food Tour. They are a very familiar with that part of the country if you should have any questions. They are VERY nice people and I know would be more than happy to assist you with anything you may need. His blog Le Stuff could be very informative to you should you decide to take Provence by storm!
