Shopping, Traveling, Blogging & Everyday Life

So ….. today I’m heading back to Rajasthan (India) for a little adventure, including some shopping for the shop. For everyone who’s been asking about a shop update, I’ll be holding a trunk sale at GOODS FROM THE RIGHT BANK with all my finds from my trip after the holidays. If you’d like to be notified when the sale begins, please sign up on the GOODS mailing list and you’ll be the first to know. Thank you so much for your interest!
On this trip, I’ll also be stopping over in Dubai. It’ll be my first time there and I can’t wait to see this in person:

So I’ll be speaking to you from these two places next week!
On that note, I’ve been blogging for nearly three years now and for most of that time, when I traveled I would have guest bloggers fill in for me. Earlier this year, for a number of reasons, I decided to blog from the road instead (whenever that’s possible). As long-time readers know, even when I’m traveling I keep this blog design-focused but for those interested in my travels and more everyday life stuff, I also keep a visual diary using Instagram. Here are some recent photos I posted over there:

This becomes my travel journal when I’m traveling and when I’m home, I post other things I’m interested in like food, fashion, art, theater, music, dogs …… (Yes, I have other interests! Too many, actually.) So if you’d like to keep up with me outside of the blog, you can follow my Instagram photos here. I also send these pics to my Twitter account so you can always just follow me on Twitter if you don’t want to sign up for yet another thing! (If you aren’t familiar with Instagram, it’s a really fun iphone photo app which you can find here.)

And last but not least, there’s Facebook. I finally gave in and started a Page for FTRB this year and I’m so glad I did. Along with my regular blog posts, I publish things that are too short for a full blog post but that I still want to share – things like clippings from magazines, design news, snapshots around the house, great finds for the home and more. Here’s some of what I’ve been posting over there:

Wow, all that seems like a lot when I write it all down but I’ve fallen into a pretty nice rhythm with it all so I wanted to summarize it for you so you can keep up with as much or as little as you’d like.
And with that, I’m out! I’ll be in the air/in transit for most of tomorrow so I’ll speak to you on Monday from Dubai. I can’t wait to share all my discoveries with you then!

sounds amazing! have a great trip! xx J
have such a great trip!
Coinkidink #2004: Yes, I have visited Rajvilas and you. will. love. it. Remi and I spent three weeks in India covering Amarvilas, Vanyavilas and Udiavilas.
And then in between we were in broken down palaces that we paid for ourselves. Hehe. Ask the concierge for the good address for cashmere because I know personally that he has one. Score!
PS. Too many restrictions for me for Dubai, looking forward to what you think!
Bisous.
PPS. whatever you do, if they have a Shirodhara treatment at the spa, get one. Actually, that was the best treatment that I ever experienced in a hotel (that was Udaivilas) and the massage that I had at Amarvilas was in the top three. Same hotel group, so it is worth the investment!
Take me with you!!! Have so much fun – can’t wait to see what you bring back. Safe travels!
AMAZING! i can’t wait to hear all about your travel tales and of course see what goodies you bring back. I’ve got you on Twitter of course so I’ll be following along.
have an amazing trip… looking forward to see your pictures!!!
Sounds like one amazing trip! Excited for the updates!
