Plain Chair, Funky Chair, Plain Chair …..
Do you remember this wingback chair I bought last year for the family room? Well, after being moved around the house a few times, it’s back in the family room.

It’s a perfectly nice chair but it’s feeling a little too bland to me these days. I’m feeling something more like this:

or these which I’m sure you’ve all seen at Anthropolgie:

I’m also still really drawn to pink. How hot is this pink wingback:

But as much as I want a really funky chair, none of this is likely to happen because 1) I’m a huge chicken so I’ll never be able to commit to a pattern or a color; and 2) I already upholstered two chairs in hot pink once and promptly traded them so that’s probably not a good choice.
So I think I’m just going to go with a good old white slipcovered armchair to go with the white slipcovered sofa in there – maybe like the ones I posted recently:

In other words, the complete opposite of what I started out thinking. Yup, just another day chez FTRB!
Have a great weekend guys and I’ll see you back here on Monday. If you’re in the hood, don’t forget to RSVP for Digital Atlanta’s Design Day coming up next Thursday. Come and talk to me about blogging! Fun! You can also RSVP through ADAC if you’re registered there.

Black-brown chair with ADORABLE pooch?! Yes, please! Have a lovely weekend, Ally! xo
You could always change the look with a fun pillow or two. thats an easy way to change the look…its a beautiful chair, have a lovely weekend.
The pink chair is adorable!
I vote for the wax print fabric ala Anthropologie. There’s something so liberating about such fearless commitment, but then you should go all the way. Stuff accent pieces, everything should be an accent piece! yeehaw!
ha. you’re really ME in a different body. I got all excited about the hot pink and thought, “that’s really ally” until you reminded us about the other chairs!
all my chairs are upholstered in white canvas, too.
a perfect gray’s last post…no place like it
Oh hello to that first furry trim chair, love that! At least if you do the slipcover then you can do a fun pink or funky pattern pillow – a happy medium right?

I say funky pattern all the way! Life is too short to be plain…

Girl, I am going to slap you upside the head if you cover another chair in pink (only to trade it later).
Are you going to be surprised when I vote for just leaving it as it is? Yep, funky throw, fun pillows et basta!
Bisous et bon WE!
Heather in Arles’s last post…I love everything
I hear you on the plain/fancy dilemma. My couches and chairs range from white slipcovered to linen colored. I got into the habit of having furniture that could be regrouped easily… a result of too many moves I guess.
Go sassy somewhere. How about a hot pink slipcover? You first.

Like you I have been craving a change for some chairs I have for some time now. I am thinking of attempting slipcovers …I bought wonderful colourful patterned fabric last year and have been working up the nerve to use it…maybe this is the weekend. I still covet white but with little ones, pets and a denimwearing husband it is a no go right now

Have a great weekend!

OOh, I like those pink chairs and they look fabulous in those pale interiors but yes, my house wouldn’t be calm enough for that blast of colour so I know exactly what you mean

Lorna’s last post…Just published:
I have that exact same wingback chair that I have been wanting to recover. Where did you purchase your slipcover from? Or did you make it? I have gone through two tests of slip covers and can’t seem to find any that work for the chair.
Any recommendations or slipcover patterns would be lovely!!
My chair is not slipcovered – it came upholstered like that. As for slipcovers, I recommend getting them custom made. I find that’s the only way to get a perfect fit.
