Some Hicks Hexagon Has Finally Made It Into the House
I have been trying and trying to find a spot for some Hicks hexagon wallpaper in the house because it’s one of my favorite patterns. I’ve talked about it a lot (like here and here). But I had to come to terms with the fact that there’s just no place for it. Then what do I see on One Kings Lane but a Hicks hexagon rug! Right then and there, my only-inexpensive-rugs-because-of-the-dogs rule went straight out the window. I ordered it in the lighter colorway and it just arrived:

I haven’t had time to put it in place yet so it’s just hanging out in the hall right now. I bought it for the living room but it could also work in the dining room so I may have to try it out in both to see where it looks best. Meanwhile, I looked around to see if anyone else had the rug and here’s what I found. I don’t know if they’re all Hicks but they’re all hexagon patterns.

I’m crossing my fingers the dogs don’t spit up on it like they do on everything else! I’ll show you where it ends up as soon as I decide. And if you’ve seen it in any other space, I’d love to know!

I love that pattern especially the color. I am still to this day afraid of wallpaper. I love the idea of it, but to me it seems so permanent and not an easy change if I decide that I want a change a little later.

I love a hex pattern. My client’s are still warming up to the concept – a little slower than I would like. It’s mod + clean but sometimes looks like polka dots! Thanks for the photos. Going to forward to a client to show them how classic + cool that shape can be!
That’s a gorgeous sexy rug! I have converted to the FLOR carpet tiles because of similar dog problems. I did find that my one dog was barfing almost every day due to acid reflux — we just spaced out their food to three meals a day and no more barfing! So maybe now I can look around for some funkier area rugs thanks to the dog bulemia being cured. Thanks for sharing these images!
That is super exciting! I can’t wait to see what you do with it. It is one of my favorite patterns. I would like to stencil a wall with the pattern someday!
Oooh! Dining Room! I vote dining room!
And the dogs betta behave!
