P.S. Clearly I need a better scanner. If anyone has recommendations, please share. I’d love one that is really compact, mainly for scanning magazines.

Love your blog! As a frame shop owner (in Atlanta!) I especially love the art walls.
I would skip the scanner and get a copy stand. I have been photographing all my old family photos and it works great. The camera mounts face down, so no weird angles and distortion. I can imagine either way being thrilled to see your name in print like that! And I’ll have to read the feedback here to see if anyone gave good recs on a scanner – we need a new one too – it’s not great for scanning magazine images.
