The White House, Australia

This is most definitely a Johnny-come-lately post. I’m sure you’ve seen at least one of these photos circulating around the blogosphere the past couple of years.

I’ve posted a few of them myself, including these:

What I didn’t know about all of these rooms is that they are all in the same rental cottage called the White House, located in Daylesford, Victoria, Australia. When I learned that, I was like, “Duh, where have I been?” then I pulled together all the photos I could find so you can see how lovely the entire cottage is.

Could it be any more charming? Â To be truthful, I had to look up where Daylesford was but now that I know, I may need to make a detour when I make it down to Australia.

Happy Traveling Thursday and bon voyage!

Thanks for tying all the loose threads together. I could be very happy in this house, but I will need a wicker bicycle and the proper dog. A golden, I think, or maybe a King Charles Spaniel…

Yes, either breed would fit in nicely.
So simplistic, but incredibly cozy.

And you wouldn’t be disappointed when you get there, Ally. It’s such a beautiful little place. I spent a week there last October and explored the area. Great cafes and restaurants, secondhand and antique stores, craft outlets, markets for food, craft and secondhand and beautiful spas. http://blog.insideoutcolouranddesign.com.au/colour/colours-australia/
When are you coming?

I don’t have immediate plans but I owe some friends there a visit so I’ll be sure to let you know when I do! Thanks for sharing your experience – it sounds like my kind of place.
So sweet…..I would love to visit there when I go back…xv

What a stunning place – I could easily amble the hours away while on vacation there. How funny that I would discover something in my own backyard (well, same country) from an overseas blog! xx

Nice of Jennifer to share the fact that she has actually stayed in this accommodation. To know that it is not only superb in pictures, but in reality too makes it all the more enviable.
I agree! Thanks, Jennifer!
What a lovely little cottage! From outside, it doesn’t look too fancy but the interior is absolutely wonderful. I know I wouldn’t mind living in a place like that but seriously, would anyone? I’m trying to find something I don’t like about the place but there I seriously can’t think of anything at the moment.
I want to go! Especially love the chandelier in the first bathroom photo. . .is it quite rural?
So charming! I could see spending lots of time here.
