Warm and Homey Loft

While I’ve learned to embrace and appreciate my new traditional surroundings, the ex-New Yorker in me still goes gaga for lofts. Often lofts can be very cool and not exactly homey or cozy. But this Tribeca loft, the home of architect Diana Kellogg, is really warm and inviting while remaining industrial.

I think this has convinced me to go ahead with painting the brick fireplace white.

You know I approve of all the art walls!

My favorite part is how she preserved so much of the original architectural details, fixtures and character of the building.

Oh my word, what a place! I love everything about it – from that insane vaulted ceiling to the dynamics of the space itself. Wow and Yum!

this space is completely gorgeous!! i’m not usually into the loft look but this particular home perfectly mixes in the hard brick with soft feminine touches (like all the flowers!). lovely! thanks so much for sharing :)

I painted my brick fireplace a creamy white two years ago and have never regretted it for a single second! It made such a huge difference in how the space felt. Still homey, but much more contemporary and no longer stuck in the 80s. I say go for it!!
