Kitchen Office Gets Tord’d

Remember when I decided to move my office to the basement? And remember when I moved my old office art wall to the kitchen office? Well, the one thing I hadn’t gotten around to moving was this Tord Boontje light that was in there:

I finally got to it this weekend:

I also shuffled some things around …..

again.

So what tweaking did you do around your house this weekend?

I tweak all the time because I love to try new ideas out in my home. It’s like a little lab. And the changes most time make me feel like I’m in some place new and is like a mini vacation. Less expensive too. Changing items around in my home gives new life to the space and to the item as well.

I love finishing projects. I finally hung up my towel rack and new valance for the bathroom. My daughter had ripped the towel rack right out of the wall! Aye, aye, aye! Good reason to redo the whole bath!

It is tax season in France, so the only moving about we are doing is of tiny slips of paper from one end of the table to the other. Not exactly satisfying now, is it? Everything looking great on your end, as usual… :)

Over the weekend, I moved everything off of the kitchen desk (laptop, files) and made it an art desk for my kids. No matter where I move their arts and crafts, they ALWAYS want to be in the kitchen with me – and instead of tripping over markers and crayons, stickers and popsicle sticks on the floor, I decided to give up my laptop space. So I’m re-thinking where the “command center” needs to be.

Love the new light placement. It really pops off the grey wall. It’s amazing how just a little rearranging can go a long way! We spent the weekend hunting for new couch pillows and I think I have them narrowed down.
