Pulling the Guest Room Together

I fell in love with the combination of yellow, gray and red almost two years ago and it looks like I’ll finally get to use it. This room reminds me a little bit of what I’m doing with the second guest room.

I’m not sure if I’m going to hang it on the wall or put it on the bed but I’m using this suzani as my starting point:

I decided to bring in the Dwell Draper Stripe shams I bought over a year ago and still haven’t used:

I like how these colors pull in the colors of the border and fringe on the suzani.

I’ve bought some pillows in a taupy gray and everything else in the room is white or black. Now all I need to do is hang some art and decide on the fabric to reuphoster the Baughman chair and this room will be done! I still love the Manuel Canovas fabric but with the suzani and stripes, it’ll be too much. (I need to use that somewhere else though because I love it so much.) If you have suggestions for the chair, let me know.

You don’t know how much I am kicking myself for not buying Suzanis when were in Samarkand! Look how totally happy yours is.

Why not a yellow chenille for the chair?

It’s funny you mentioning yellow. Lately I’m totally drawn to this sunny and shiny color. Almost changed my blog color :)

About your question, I would pick one color from the suzani to reupholster the chair. Very daring would be to pick a pattern with the same colors as the stripy fabric, though I think it’s getting a bit old-fashion to do that.

Such a timely post! I’m redoing our bedroom right now as well. I actually have a few things in my old bedroom that might work in this room. Maybe I have some stuff you can use!
Love that suzani, I think it is a great jumping off point. Think the addition of the red to the yellow and grey is perfect.

Sounds like you’re going in the right direction . The suzani is a beautiful jump-off point for sure! I’m loving any color paired with gray, especially yellow, these days!
