My First Trip to Scott’s

So after having been in Atlanta for an entire year, I finally made it to the famous Scott’s Antique Market yesterday. Now I know what everyone’s been talking about all this time!  I met my partner-in-crime Sherry down there and I also got to meet Emily who was visiting from NC. She is as cute as can be!

There was gorgeousness everywhere. Antique French chairs? Um, yes please.

Gilded frames? Yes, those too, please.
This guy reminded me of my Frenchie:

I saw this piece when I first got there and it was love at first sight:

The photograph does not do it justice. It’s an old map cabinet with the perfect patina and chunky wooden top. It’s massive (8′ wide) and would be great for my studio. I’m still thinking about it …..
We also popped into Love Train next door and we all kind of died over this piece:

Wouldn’t it be great for shoes or art supplies?
They also had great little vignettes like this throughout the store:

The one thing I came home with was this (Kravet?) fabric:

Remember I was saying just yesterday that I really wanted to reupholster the Baughman chair in pink? Well, I saw this fabric and that was it.

So that’s one thing I can cross off of my scary to do list. It won’t work in the guest room anymore but hey, at least it’ll look good while having no place to go!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Ooh Ally, you HAVE to get the map cabinet. It is gorgeous! Don’t let it get away.
I love the fabric you have picked for the chair. I’m sure you will find the perfect spot for it.

I know! That’s what I think too! I’m about to call the seller to see if it’s still there ….
Ally, I’m begging you. Ring the seller now. I want to see it in your home.
Let us know as soon as you get it.

scott’s is so my favorite. glad you got there – now, aren’t you hooked?
Totally!
Is it not the best EVER? I could spend a month in there and never get bored. That fabric is the best, Ally!
Oooh, I agree with the first comment–that map cabinet is really amazing–and you know how rare it is! If you can at all swing it, I am sure you won’t regret it…
And bravo for the fabric too! Amazing that you found exactly what you were hoping for…
Love that fabric! Your chair will look great and just think, moving it gives you the opportunity to look for another one! Gotta love Scott’s!
Ally….I am thinking the the fabric you bought is the same as on those pink chairs! I just looked at it again….how amazing. Glad you had fun…it will be here again in a month!
It’s very close – it’s like it was meant to be! We’re so going again next month!
So glad you finally made it to Scott’s. Love it. Went last month and hope to go back again soon!
Loving the french chairs…must go on my next Atlanta visit!
i am drooling over the fabric + baughmam chair! it is going to look incredible.
Loved your photo tour (and that pink is going to look fantastic on the chair!). So fun meeting you
Haven’t gone through my pictures yet–although I’m thinking I should’ve taken more.
Have a great weekend,
Emily
You too! You’ll have to come back when it’s not freezing. I can’t wait to see where you put the antlers!
Love your rustic finds, and especially digging the pink printed fabric you found! The chairs will look fantastic!
Aw, I bet you ladies had a blast! So jealous you got to get together and got to experience such awesome vintage beauties! I can’t believe all you brought home was that fab. That map cabinet is calling your name!
I know! I couldn’t believe it either. I think I was overwhelmed because it was my first time. I totally agree about the cabinet. I’m *this* close to calling up the seller…..
oh, my! i am headed to atlanta in may and now i know where i will be spending my free time!
suddenly, i am contemplating a move to the ATL. all amazing finds!!
I used to live in Atlanta and one of the things I miss the most is Scott’s. None of my friends here can imagine how good it is. I tell them that the flea market here does not compare. But if you haven’t been then you just can’t imagine how good it is. So many of the things in my house came from Scott’s.
It really is in a league of its own!
What a fun day that must have been. I bet Sherry is so much fun to hang out with. Love that place. I might have to take a trip to Atlanta. Great fabric, can’t wait to see your chair upholstered in that.
Wow. That place looks amazing! Hooray for checking something off the list!
Now, go back and get that map cabinet, ASAP!
Happy weekend!
Be still my beating heart.
ok…maybe not the scary hairless dog.
I have always dreamed of going to Scotts – thanks so much for the tour – so jealous!! I wish I could have been with you!

What a fun trio…with or without the antiques! Love the map cabinet!
Happy Sunday!

I went on Friday and got to meet Sherry and Emily. So wished I could’ve met you too! The only thing I got at Scott’s was fabric also. Yours is fabulous! Can’t wait to see it your chair when it’s done!
Oh my word, Ally, you are killing me! The finds are beautiful… I truly wished we lived close by one another—what a fabulous shopping partner you would be
I adore the chairs most of all…
Hope you are having a wonderful start to the new week, my friend, xoxo
I have got to get my butt done to Scotts!

Ohhh I can’t believe it took you so long! So fun, right! Glad you bought the cabinet and the pink fabric will make your chairs look just like the ones in your post.
Love LoveTrain. Feel like I kinda can get in Mark Sage’s head there and he’s of course who I want to be when I grow up. Really enjoy the adventure of sorting through his finds and imaging the possibilities. Wonder if he would come to lunch with us? Bet he would.
Ahhh you make me miss Scott’s so much! I might have to come back and visit friends just to squeeze a Scott’s visit in to my year. I love the map cabinet you bought. Awesome find! It looks great in your art room. Hot pink solid fabric would also rock on those french chairs in the first picture. Yummy french gray finish and bright fabrics!
