A Sprinkling of Gold for the Living Room

www.fromtherightbank.com

I’ve been really focused on the living room the past couple of weeks probably because we’re expecting guests (and let’s face it, that’s the only time a formal living room ever gets used). As I mentioned Monday, the colors I’m using are gray, white and taupe with touches of black. I forgot to mention I’m  using gold as well. Here are some more inspiration pictures for the room that I’ve been storing.

I seriously doubt I’ll pull it all together before everyone arrives on Friday but I’m doing my best!

I obviously have gold on the brain as it’s also a prominent color in my Christmas decor this year. Aren’t the silver cups and these gold pots de crème just stunning?

I should have some more pictures of my Christmas decorations tomorrow.

A touch of gold is always a good thing!
Love those pots de creme — wow.

I keep a good book or two in my parlor, and make it part of my day to spend even just a little while there, away from the busy-ness of the “business” side of the house — a book, a wonderful chair, a lovely serene room, and perhaps an adult beverage at my side. I deserve to use my “good” room as much as do my guests!

    Merry Christmas!

Somewhere along the way, we decided we were going to make regular use of our “formal” living room (which is more cozy and peaceful and without toys or distraction than formal). My husband and i love to sit in there with a glass of wine and chat. My girls love to sit and talk.

If you make it lovely yet inviting, you’ll want to be in there more often! Have fun!

And thank you for your comment on my cards!
    Merry Christmas!
