Family Room Sneak Peek
Friday, I talked about how I had my books distributed throughout my house. So today I thought I’d show you one of the places I mentioned. This is in our family room / keeping room (as it’s also called here in the South). There’s still more to do to “finish” the room but it’s getting there.
We were lucky to have this built-in that holds a ton of books and some other items like my vintage typewriter and matchbook collection. There are more books and things to add so it’ll probably look very different the next time you see it.
The chair is from Paris and the Union Jack pillow is from Etsy that I posted about here.

I love seeing blogger’s actual houses! I really like the idea of naming a room the keeping room. There’s something very evocative and old-fashioned about it (although I might need somewhat more rooms in my house before I can go about naming them – at this point it’s pretty much just “downstairs”, “our room”, “baby’s room”!).
I love the armchair – I have a very similar one, unpainted and upholstered in a greyish blue. Very comfortable, but I don’t think we have it located as well as it could be…
