Still Searching for a Worn Leather Chair

I’m still on the hunt for a worn leather chair. I originally wanted one for the family room but we put the Bergère chair in there and I think it’s perfect for the space. But I’d still love a leather chair.

In the basement, we have what some people would call a media room; I just call it our hangout room. (The whole basement is a disaster so it’ll be a while before I can you show you any of it.)

There’s a slip covered couch and a big teak coffee table there now and I think a leather chair would make a great complement.

Don’t you love how I can create a need where there really isn’t one? It’s a gift.

Speaking of beautiful, I was asked to contribute to Laura’s series on what I think is Bright, Bold and Beautiful on her blog of the same name. You can find my guest post here. Thank you for having me, Laura!
I wish you all a bright and beautiful weekend!

Have we seen the bergere chair? Love the look of the worn chairs shown, regardless of what damage could be done to them they would still look great! Janell

I actually found a load of club chairs yesterday while researching for my scandinavian bargains post… They're all in Norway and Sweden though.
Have you ever thought about the Safari Chair by Kaare Klint? I think it's such a chic alternative (I'm showing a Norwegian apartment with two different versions on Monday – über chic!!

I can loan y'all our cat, Faro. He's very adept at aging leather chairs. Kind of specialized though. Our other leather chair came from the Salvation Army.

There is always the option of buying a new leather chair, which will eventually become a worn leather chair.
(I think the right type is semi-aniline? (Can't remember.) There's one that ages naturally but has a stain resistant coating. )

I'm dying for a worn leather chair too! But it must be authentically worn, not faked. I hate faked patina. Judging by the number of perfect ones in magazines, you'd think they're dime a dozen, but I'm finding it impossible to find!

I thought of you and your worn leather chair hunt when I stumbled into Montauk – you know, the custom sofa shop in Soho? Anywhoo… they have a nice selection of vintage club chairs spattered amongst their new pieces.
Just thought you should know -!-
