Guest Blogger: Birdhouse Interior Design
When Ally asked me to help with a guest post I was pretty flattered considering I have been obsessing over her blog for some time now. I mean, did you see photos of her old house?! And are you paying attention to the transformation of her current Atlanta abode?! Girl can decorate.
She asked me (oh, hi, I’m Jessica from Birdhouse Interior Design) to chat a little about current design trends, and since I just got back from attending the Las Vegas Market (picking out goodies for my upcoming showroom – Birdhouse Collectible), I thought I would share a few of the trends that I noticed while peeking around each store.
First of all, I noticed that nautical-themed items are making a statement. I even picked up a couple of pillows to sell in our new space.
Plus, did you see the whole spread in the latest issue of Elle Decor? Yup, a lot of nautical action.
I saw several cool, eco-friendly rugs that I was in love with. Tom Filicia has a new line of rugs made from recycled plastic bottles. They were so amazing in person, and could work indoors or outdoors.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to check out the seminar with Mary McDonald, Darryl Carter, and Kishani Perera discussing all the trends they noticed while at Las Vegas Market, but here is a video of Kishani’s trend watch. It would have been a ton of fun to go, too bad that I didn’t have enough time:
