Room Love + What’s My Name?

www.fromtherightbank.com

I just had to share this room. Louis chairs, Beni Ouarain rug, baby grand, great art wall, lovely pedestal table, huge window and beams. LOVE IT. So much so that it could almost be my “Style in One Picture.”

So, have you found yours yet? I’m thrilled that over 100 brave souls have participated in the challenge so far! It’s been described as torturous and agonizing (among other things) but it’s so much fun! If you haven’t had a chance yet, join us!

Speaking of fun, I know that my blog’s name is kind of weird* and that it causes a lot of confusion. I’ve seen just about every variation of it over time:

From the Left Bank to the Right Coast
From the Left Bank to the West Coast
From the Right Bank to the East Coast

and pretty much every combination of the above.

Then a few funny ones:

From the West Bank to the West Coast (East Coast, Left Coast, etc.)
From the West Bank
The Front Right Bank

The last one really cracks me up because I have no idea what it means.  Does this ever happen with your blogs?

*For those of you who don’t know, it started out as From the Right Bank to the Left Coast because I moved from the right bank of Paris to Seattle, which is on what is sometimes referred to as “the left coast.” I thought it was kind of cute and catchy when I came up with it. Then I moved to Atlanta so I shortened it to just From the Right Bank.

Love the art wall in the photo – don't think I have seen a Louis chair with a grand piano before. Have been enjoying everyone's Style in One Picture. That's funny about your blog title. Haven't experienced that but my blog isn't mentioned as much as yours.

I am wholeheartedly obsessed with that rug! What a great room… the light streaming through just adds to all the appeal.

Oh and I don't know about my blog name, but people constantly misspell Naomi. I get Niomi, Naoim, Noami, Naimo and other craziness.

That is too funny, I think that I have your blog name correct on my blog roll, and I'm going to have to go back and see who else has taken the challenge, and I always love to see a great gallery wall, but that rug speaks to me.

I have that image saved, too.

I have been meaning to go back and look at all the challenge images – can't wait. let's do it all again in a year and see how much we change..

    love the name mixes…

Word. I get all sorts of wacky blog name variations (which you know, Alek, I'm used to from my crazy first name).

My blog is: A Half Cup

    I get:

    Half a Cup

    A half of a Cup

    One Half Cup

    Cup and a half

    Half Cup

    Half of a Cup

If i were smarter, I would have bought all those variations and had them reroute, but most of them are NOT for sale. OH WELL!

Hope Hot.Lanta is treatin' you right, lady. Here's some rainy love from your Left Coast town. Sad face. July 1st, REALLY SEATTLE?!?!?!

Lovely room but gosh, i wouldn't dare let a young child into it!

I called my business after our tiny townsland and added Lane although there actually is a Garrendenny Lane. Unfortunately people find it hard to proncounce and it often get called Gardendeny!

Well I guess better the Right Bank than the West Bank which is basically Gaza and although I am sure v stylish in its own right perhaps not really what you are on about.

It is a Good Thing that people get the name wrong it means they are talking about you. Love that room too. xoxo

I love your choice because piano would definitely be part of my room too! Funny about your name I think I was one of those people confusing it left and right! Don't worry not anymore! xoxo

Gorgeous in all respects. The light is divine. How I would love to have a 'music room'.

I once took piano lessons (in my early teens..) and as I come from a family with some great (!) musical talents I kind of thought it was a done deal.. However..noooo. In fact it was so bad that my piano teacher actually suggested I didn't continue.. I was devastated at the time but find it quite hilarious now. I actually was that bad as I never really got the hang of reading music.. :)

Perhaps if I had a room like this I would learn.. :)

Happy weekend and big hugs from a cold Sydney!

I love that room, it's serene and sophisticated. What I wouldn't do for a baby grand…

The name of your blog is perfectly fitting- I love that you've lived in so many different places. I'd be curious to know how each has influenced your worldview.

I love the name of your blog and the connection of Paris/Seattle, Europe/NorthAmerica.

My blog has a bad and not thought through name but it's small and there are just a few noticing that Malo is bad in Spanish and maybe in Italian and French too. IRL i have a last name that is very strange to many people and I enjoy their different tries at it.

yes, it can a bit frustrating to come up with names. Imagine having children and naming them?? I had this little conversation with my love this weekend, and it's going to be one bloody war of two quite strong wills… well, that day…

    have a sweet monday Ally!

What a room. Could substitute a black lacquer cabinet for the piano (if one doesn't play). The reflection of light is the key, I think.
