Even Bigger and Better Union Jacks!
So remember my post on Union Jacks the other day? The very next day, the very fabulous Decor Demon posted about Betsy Burnham’s house and in her daughter’s room was this amazing dresser:

This has DIY written all over it. So I did a little more web surfing and I found this:

at French Provincial Furniture. She even shows a step-by-step of how it was done. I’ve said over and over that I’m completely useless at DIY but I am so tempted to try my hand at this!!!
And if that doesn’t work out, I could just buy this one from the Paris Apartment:

or maybe this one from Sharland and Lewis:

if one of my buddies in the U.K. wants to pick it up and ship it to me. HA!
What do you think? Should I give it a go myself?

these dressers are amazing! I say that you should try to DIY the dresser if it isn't too hard. I'm sure you'll succeed!

Ally, now what you could is send Miss Mustard Seed or The Magic Brush an email to inquire about them painting a dresser. It wouldn't hurt to ask. These two ladies and fabulous a furniture makeovers. I've seen these union jack pieces too. I'm sure that if you really want one you will work it out
Happy Monday.

I loved betsy's daughter's room and that dresser is so fabulous. I also just saw a dishwasher door with the jack on it at Visual Vamp. Too cool. YOu should try it for sure. It is just paint if you mess up you can always paint over it.

Love the dressers – especially the more distressed one!
Oh please do paint a dresser like this, it is so cool! Personally, I like the high-gloss version of it better than the flat paint. My husband isn't a big fan of painted furniture, so I have to live through others (and the irony is that I love to paint, and would be that person who wants to save every worn-our piece of furniture with good bones!).

Yes yes yes! Have a go!
I agree with Donna. The French Provincial ones work the best. Love the contrast of the graphics with the softness of the wood carvings.
Can't wait to see what you cook up!

DIY this! And post the results. I love a fun diy project.
A do-it-yourself project that requires precision and straight lines?!? Dangerous…at least if you're as easily distracted and impatient as I am.
Check out this stunning bombe chest from Sweetpea and Willow (warning, the price makes me cringe…but it's so great):
