Orange Crush: Hermès
Welcome to this month’s installment of Orange Crush, a collaboration between Down and Out Chic and FTRB where we celebrate our favorite color, orange!
I honestly don’t know how I’ve done all these Orange Crush posts without doing one on Hermès! I think just the sight of those orange boxes makes most of us happy.
But when they contain things like this cashmere blanket, it’s even better!
And what about the vintage tray:
Unfortunately, it’s virtually impossible to get your hands on one.
And speaking of rare items:
I am positively DYING over this Leica M7, Edition Hermes. It is a limited edition collector’s item and as a sometimes-photographer and huge Leica fan, I’d be all over this . . . except for one wee little fact. It runs around $14,000. Ouch, right? Orange…love orange. Have to be careful too much orange doesn't find its way into my home! My favorite orange piece is a Mitchell Gold "Freud" chaise lounge in orange leather. Off to check out the other part of this post…what a great idea to "split" a post! Janell

it is the most perfect orange ever isn't it?! have been considering giving my greige hall some stripes in this orange. love it!
Hermes has had in collection brushed orange and brown mohair throws. I found out a while ago that they were hand made by a Finnish textile artesan. Visited her work room and saw some unbrushed throws with paper note "Hermes", she told that she has some throws left from the orders she has delivered to Hermes, but without Hermes tags.
Now I am wondering if I should buy one from her….

You've stumbled upon a dream of mine…to have lots of hermes boxes stacked up for display!! The only problem – I can't track down any boxes without splurging on the hermes products to get the boxes

Love this color!! I was first introduced to orange by a best friend and ever since, i have loved it!!

The iconic hermes box. I do love it. Love the symbolism: quality craftsmanship, enduring style, bold and subdued, classic and current. I know some people think displaying them is pretentious but I think that like anything else, it depends on your attitude and approach. Love them.

I love Hermes and don't know what I would do with out my Hermes scarves and my favorite perfume 24 Faubourg! Plus of course the packaging is right up there with Tiffany…Orange and Turq…perfect.

Love Hermes just bought an unused scarf of some years in its orange envelope… all keys . My dear French friend is a fan and I buy for her. Brigitte bought me a leather cuff with stud in the 80's ,it lives in a gorgeous round box. I love the perfumes too.

I JUST bought the orange vintage tray(metal not wood) at Lillian August in Greenwich, CT and there is another store called Reinfret that is getting a whole shipment in the next month or two…I agree that it is amazing! It gives just the right pop of color
