Guest Blogger: Haven and Home

Hi Everyone, I’m Marianne from Haven and Home and I am so happy to be here today! From The Right Bank was one of the first blogs I started reading and I have loved following Ally’s journey to the South! When Ally suggested a “design trend” for a topic today I instantly knew what I want to discuss- wallpaper. I love that is has found a resurgence again on the design scene…

There are so many uses for wallpaper, even in unexpected places like a ceiling…
Light, dark, bold, soft, there is a wallpaper out there for everyone.
When I am looking for wallpaper inspiration there are two companies I always go to, the first is Romo
I love the funky patterns and vibrant colors.
Designers Guild is another company who continually inspires me with their wallpapers and images on their website..
I appreciate the softer side of their prints, although just as statement making…
Currently I am thinking about wallpapering a small bathroom in my house but I may just have to do something unexpected like a long wall in our living room. What about you? Have you used wallpaper recently or are you planning to soon?

Thank you Ally for having me!

Ooh I've never been on either of those sites – thanks for sharing! Just last year I dove in head first and wallpapered a large wall in my family room with a light aqua/cream damask by Candice Olson – I LOVE it and get compliments on it all the time! I'd love to do a powder room in a bright graphic print too!

    Whoa!..

Yes, I want it all, and on every wall.

I want every pattern I see, and then I pull back and want them all redone for me in white-on-white.

Yes, we placed a vintage silver mylar with white 1970's nudes, on the ceiling of a small make-up studio. It is a nice, subtle surprise.

Thanks for your guest post. I have wallpaper in my powder room (a very busy 4 color floral with birds) and also in my dining room (a 2 color large scale pattern in gold and aqua). In both instances the wallpaper makes the room pop.

I papered a bathroom years ago, and it was really not hard to do and made a huge improvement. For years after that I spent a lot of time removing other people's wallpaper in the various homes we lived in. I've seen a lot of blogs on wallpaper of late, perhaps it is making a comeback!

I am seriously thinking about wallpapering my foyer. There are so many great papers out there it is hard to decide. I have commitment issues with pattern, I like to change things pretty often so I am not sure how that would work out:)
