Copper Pendants and My Devotion to Arne Jacobsen

You know how everyone is loving brass lately? Well, I am too but I’ve also been really attracted to Tom Dixon‘s copper pendant for a while.

Over the weekend, I was perusing my files for rooms with copper lighting and I noticed something really interesting . . .

All the rooms also had Arne Jacobsen chairs in them: the Egg chair above and below:

As most of you know, I’m a chair addict and Arne Jacobsen is a big reason for that. Worship would be an understatement for what I feel for the man. I have a set of the Series 7 in my kitchen and the Egg Chair is on the top of my wishlist. (I wouldn’t mind a Swan either!) I even went to Copenhagen a few years ago, largely in part to see the SAS Hotel for which he designed everything, including his Egg and Swan chairs. (I’m not messing around here, people, my devotion is serious!)

I thought it was so interesting to see how my search for copper pendants led me to these rooms. I guess it’s safe to say the homeowners of these rooms and I have similar tastes and styles.

Speaking of which, I’m thrilled that so many people (80 so far!) have participated in the What’s Your Style in One Picture Challenge III!  I hope you will too!

    I love them too! We have the same wishlist I think.

    The 'my style in a single photo' idea was really inspired. What a great response!! Fun to do as well.

    I'm so with you on this pendant lamp…I've been wanting one and keep pulling out pics with this lamp in it!! Never noticed the chairs with it before – nice eye :) !!

    I can completely understand your infatuation. I am exactly the same way for Mies Van der Rohe and any little thing he ever did. I like to think of these things as healthy addictions :) . Love those lights as well.

    I love them as well, and I think Arne Jacobsen is a design genius though I might not love the way his chairs (and others' of the same era) are incorporated into decors do jour (I do love the examples you've brought here, though).

    I have to tell you your Idea about capturing one's style in one picture has really gotten me thinking. I haven't come up with anything yet, but an enjoying the process.

    Yes yes yes! I am so with you here sister! I LOVE the Tom Dixon copper pendants and have a major attraction to most things Arne Jacobsen designed. I too own some of his chairs but wouldn't mind expanding my little Danish family to include a cognac leather egg chair. Yum!

    wow those copper lights are gorgeous!! I especially love the first image, against the black wall.

    I am totally with you and in love with that pendant. I love the last image of the kitchen/dining area. The white walls and bright colors really make the pendant pop.

    And…that is so funny about the chairs. I guess certain pieces always steer people towards other similar things.
