Bathroom Sconces and a Few New Pretties in the Kitchen

I finally decided on the wall sconces for the master bath. They’re part of the Lugarno series from Restoration Hardware. We have two vanities in there so that means four scones so I wanted something really simple because I think four of anything can get to be too much. Our bathroom kind of looks like this with gray marble so I think these will work well. They’re on back order so it’ll be a few weeks before they arrive. I’ll post photos as soon as they’re installed.

RH is at the local mall and while I was there, I got a couple of pretty things for the kitchen. The tea towel is from Anthropologie. (It doesn’t seem to be on their website.) It looks like an old map with a little piece that looks hand-stitched. And you know I can’t resist anything that’s drawn by hand (or looks like it was).

Guy Wolff hand-thrown pots are on sale at RH so I grabbed one. I just love the color and details. I’m thinking about going back for more. I just put some cuttings from the garden in it for now. The pot in the back is from Ikea and look at the pretty hydrangeas from our own garden! There are a ton of blue ones out there too. You don’t know how exciting it is for ol’ black thumbs here to have things growing in my garden. It’s only because they were here long before me(!)

Thank you so much for all of your support yesterday. They still haven’t taken down my content but it seems we’re at least being heard. They have now removed their contact form and closed comments on all posts so there is no way for anyone to get in touch with them. I guess they got tired of hearing from us! I’m going to follow up with some of the readers’ suggestions and see what happens. Thank you all so much!

    I was just looking at those RH pots last night! They look so gorgeous! I Can't see the first image for some reason though… weird. I bet they look good though! lol…

    I went to RH to get some of the Guy Wolff pots but they were labelled "Made in China", which shocked me so I left them behind. They're still gorgeous though.

    I'm taking a trip to RH this evening myself so I'll take another look!

    ally… i am so sorry for all of the trouble… i have had someone who i thought was a friend (and worked for me) take off with my ideas and start their own company. trust is such an important part of our being… and respect another. i hope they are happy… they know they have done wrong and have to live with it. hope things are settled soon.. xx

    also wanted to let you kow.. i met guy years ago when he was throwing his own pots and i almost carried them in my store. he is so charming and wonderful… i simply did not have enough room… now they are massed produced… so unfortunately not as special as they once were. but still fabulous! he told me himself so i do know the insider scoop!

    First, I can't believe someone was stealing your stuff! I've seen that happen so much since I started blogging…they always get caught – I don't understand why they do?

    Second – I love that towel! Have you ever seen http://www.thedryfor.com ? they have a million cute tea towels – a little different style from that one but they are very cute =)

    and third, where did you go in swtizerland!? i live outside of luzern. were you here on vacation? hope you had fun!

    hope you make progress with the "crooks"! as the brits say, it's really just "daft" what they're doing!

    i LOVE the "what's your style in one picture" challenge. but sadly it's too challenging for me. the whole idea throws me into an existential crisis. can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

    I love the hand towel but then again I think I love all the hand towels Anthropologie sells. I have a hard time resisting.

    I hope you get things worked out with the blog that is stealing your content. I recently found out someone I work with was taking ideas and sources from my blog and presenting them as things she found on her own (not giving me credit at all) since no one else at work knows about my blog, no one knew. It's too bad there are people like that out there but I figure karma will fix it in the end.
