Honeymoon at La Mamounia
You’ve probably heard about the star-studded re-opening of La Mamounia. It’s the legendary Marrakesh hotel that was recently given a makeover by the one and only Jacques Garcia. The travel and design industries have all been abuzz about it but it has special meaning for me because . . .
. . . la Mamounia is where we stayed on our honeymoon.
Now, that was quite a long time ago . . .
and it didn’t look exactly like this . . .
but it was still pretty fabulous.
I remember the gardens being especially beautiful.
But seeing these new photos . . .
makes me think . . .
we may need to pay it another visit.
Maybe we should consider . . .
an anniversary trip?

we were in marrakech last year and La Mamounia was still closed so didn't even see a peek of the renos. it's looking awesome, though. bet you prices have doubled?

Looks like a gorgeous place to stay. Definately worth an anniversary trip. I'd love to visit Morroco and stay here.
OK..so now I want to go to Morocco even more badly than I already did…when I was in Gibraltar I could see it and wanted to take the ferry over SO much, but, it couldn't happen as we were not traveling alone…one day. A perfect anniversary trip for you!

How did you even hear about it before? I find the toughest part of picking a place to stay when on vacation (or honeymoon for that matter) is finding a locale and accomodations that are at least as beautiful as my own house. That can be a chore sometimes… Would love to hear more about how you found this.

You two should definitely go back for an anniversary — this place looks GORGEOUS. Can't get over the gorgeous tile, lighting and ceilings. Stunning (and no mistaking where you are when you wake up either!).

Oh, Ally, you how NO idea how much I NEED to go to Morocco! It's been on the top of my list for ages, but my other half is sooo not interested. La Mamounia is just so so fabulous, love all the intricate design and attention to detail.
Isn't the Royal Cafe just fabulous?? You should see all the iconic Danish design they're selling there – eye candy overdose!!

What a place! It's got that colonial classic look with all that fabulous Moorish and typically Moroccan style. I LOVE it and will definitely keep on file.
