Orange Crush: Orange and Gray

www.fromtherightbank.com

Orange Crush is back! If you’re new to my blog, Orange Crush is a monthly collaboration with my pal Christina at Down and Out Chic where we share with you our love of the color orange. We took a little break while I was busy with my move (thanks for your patience, Christina!) but we’re back and look forward to a very orange year.

So you know I’ve been on a gray kick for quite a while now. Well, it happens to look amazing with orange as you can see in these rooms:

I’m sure this comes as no surprise to those of you familiar with the living room in my last house:

Christina is featuring orange wedding ideas at her blog today and it’s only appropriate since she’s recently engaged! Be sure to pay her a visit and congratulate her!

Very snazzy! I think orange looks especially well in textiles – to my mind it's a hard colour (totally subjectively) and needs the softness of fabric to work in a welcoming way, helped by the milkiness of those lovely greys. I'm looking forward to seeing the Eames placement in your new house.

Orange has always been a dificult color to convine for me, but these looks great! Thanks for the inspiration!

I've seen you've been traveling a lot but nevwe came to Argentina; let me give you a small idea of what you may find: http://looksbetteringreen.blogspot.com/ is Melanie's blog and she posted some pictures and views, you'll love it.

Yay, I've needed my orange fix for some time now! I'm seriously crushing on that room with the tree wallpaper, orange Eames armshell, and Eames bird. I think I posted it a few months ago too, and I can't shake how much I love it!

I am new to your blog, and I love the Orange Crush concept! I fully plan on participating in your style in one photo challenge as well…not as easy as I thought. And that birch tree wallpaper…I have it in my Vt. condo, posted about it, adore it, and now pondering adding a pop of orange somewhere in that room! Thanks!

I have mised Orange Crush and am glad it's back. Orange might not be for everyone but I find it a good substitute for red, since I'm not a "red" person. I also love the birch wallpaper from Ferm.

I am contemplating painting my breakfast nook orange and can't wait to order paint samples.

I can't even tell you how much I love grey – it's the perfect neutral – it goes with everything! And how perfect your post is and how lovely – I can't seem to get enough of grey with orange lately! in fact i just bought these great orangey thomas paul pillows to go with a greyish-brown chair in our living room…just the best combo!!

Lucila: Those photos are gorgeous! Argentina is high on my list of places to visit. It's one of my husband's favorite places too so we'll definitely be coming one of these days. :)

Eliana: For me, orange is always in!

Susan: Totally understandable. If I lived in Tenn., it may be the one thing that would turn me off of orange. :)

Jenn: Welcome to your first Orange Crush!

Naomi: An orange chandelier is such a great idea. I would love one.

The Zhush: It is such a hard challenge! I'll look forward to your one picture.

    Anita: Don't tempt me! ;)

Deb: I think orange is the happiest color there is – right up there with yellow. :)

I did a wedding stationery set in orange and grey for a Santa Fe couple who married this past fall.

I loved it when they were bold enough to embrace the color combination – and from this post, it's even better when you use it in decor!

Thanks for this post – very inspiring!!
