Today’s Crush: Handpainted Chinoiserie Cocktail Table

The convenience of shopping at midnight in my pajamas is really giving my credit card a workout. I should really stop but I keep finding amazing bargains like this hand painted Chinoiserie style table:

v76349

It’s only $249.05 and I want it very, very badly.

I recently read somewhere that one of the decorators on HGTV (Taniya Nayak, I think) furnished her entire house with things she bought online. At first I thought, “no way” but then I realized that as much as I shop online these days, I could totally do that! How much of your shopping is done on the internet?

    Lovely lovely lovely!

I'm from Argentina and down here I also buy lots of things online, like a new table I got, entirely made of wood, ready to be used, with a dark brown top and white legs, very very nice, with a country look we can say.

Highly recomended, you can finde incredible prices. My table was less than 100 dollars.

    Have a nice weekend.

First of all the table is just divine…and second, I do soooooooooo much shopping online. Often this is followed by a visit to see items in person, but it is a great way to edit and save time.

Nate and Linda: I know! I was surprised too!

Devon: Hi, old friend! Things are good here – still crazy getting settled but good. Hope you're all well out west!

This table is realy beautiful! I am always so surprised that so many of you buy on the internet! Here in Belgium we are not used to it yet! We want to see it in real first before buying. But I think it will come over to us!

That is a lovely table, especially the recessed surface. I grew up with a mother who bedecked our home in oriental rugs, lacquered tables, and collected imari china. Like mother, I find myself gravitating to some of the same pieces, though with a slightly more minimalist aesthetic.

Does the top detach as a tray and the legs breakdown for storage?

Oh – get it! Is is wonderful! (And it is not a chunky sofa you are buying – you can always send it back). I buy more smaller things on-line. Sofas and chairs I feel I want to sit in before I sign the credit card slip. Happy week, friend! Mon

Lesley: I can see why he would be hesitant with a bigger item. It's kind of scary not knowing what it feels like.

Raina: That sounds like my list!

Greet: When it does, it'll change your life!

Lydia: Yes, the top is removable and can be used as a tray and the legs fold down.

i'm an interior designer, and i shop online for projects All. The. Time. before buying, i search for other people's reviews of the item, because they typically tell you if something is cheap or a hassle to return. i've been burned once or twice in the past by shopping at really obscure online places, so i tend to avoid those. also, some places offer free shipping on returns, or hassle-free returns, etc. i also try to shop at sites that also have physical locations, because if i completely hate something, it can typically be returned in the store.
