Pretty In Pink

We’re back in business, folks! And thank goodness because not being connected makes me all jittery. I hate that it does but it does.

Anyhoo, I’ve got my iMac all plugged in, which means I finally have access to my stash of blog images, which makes me oh so happy.  As I was going through them today, I was really drawn to all the bright pink.

I know pink is a tough color for anyone with males in their household but I want to find a way to incorporate it somewhere in the new house.

But before that I need to finish unpacking. I’m up to my eyeballs in STUFF and totally exhausted but it’s slowly getting there.

(Thank you, Susan, for reminding me that it doesn’t all have to be done in one day.  You don’t know how much I needed someone to remind me of that!)

My mom is flying in tomorrow to tell me what to do I mean, help. She’s a total dynamo (I apparently inherited the slacker gene from my dad) so she’s going to whip this place into shape in no time.

Thank you all for all of your lovely comments while I’ve been off-line!  See you tomorrow!

I'd say none of your inspirational images is too feminine – there's sink, and there's shabby chic pink, and so long as you avoid the latter no man has a right to complain. The black and white with the painted pink bench works beautifully. Have fun settling in!

so nice to have someone come to help with the move-in. for me, it's always been my sister. slightly on the ocd-side, she's the only one i know that gets "gung ho" about organizing a garage. she spent a week with me and hubby organizing our townhome in atlanta when we combined households. it was an absolutely blessing.

love all the pops of pink! pam

Welcome home! I love what I have seen so far… Grey cabinets -HOORAY!

I am looking forward to the finished product, but no rush – gosh, we've been in our new spot since the start of December. While everything is put away, it isn't even close to being decorated!

    Have fun nesting!

P.S. Loving splashes of hot pink. Seriously chic. He will just have to deal with it! : P

    Jennifer: Yes! Such a relief!

callie: Ooooooooooooh! You're brave! I can't wait to see!

Lindsey: That's not my house! :) The photo is from the Selby. I know what you mean – when I lived in Paris, I wouldn't have been caught dead with an Eiffel Tower anything but now . . . the next time I'm in Paris, I'm so getting one!

K-Line and Melissa: Compared to my mom, I'm a total slacker! :)

ABCD: Definitely! I just hope to be unpacked in a month!

I have never been a 'pink' girl, but am now so drawn to utilizing pops of hot pink to my design scheme. You truly pick the most fabulous of photos/design for your posts. Always such a thrill to visit Ally. Enjoy your 'getting organized' with your dear mom. It seems like taking charge is what mom's do best! xx deb

I'm afraid that I've never been a pink girl in clothes or decorating, but you have shown some lovely subtle ways of using the colour pink in the home.

I might even be brave enough to sneak a little bit into my grey home. Actually, grey and pink go beautifully together and you are painting many of your rooms in grey, aren't you ?

…. ironically , I've got a pink icon next to my name on your comments !! XXXX

That bench is awfully pretty. I'm glad things are coming along. Pace yourself and enjoy the process. Email me for a great new spot hubby and I enjoyed for brunch. I think you'd like it and there's a great vintage/midcentury furniture shop down the steet I think you'd like.

Oh I love Anna's Black and Spiro stripped chair! I've only recently started loving pink as a color and I think it looks fabulous as parts of interiors. My entryway is completely pink and i like to have little hints of pink in other rooms as well (even if it's just in terms of pink flowers).

    Glad you are back!

Loving all the pink! Happy to hear you are back in action.

I still haven't received my new laptop for the past two months I've been stuck on my college desktop which makes blogging and commenting take forever due to all of the freezes!

I'm sure your Mom will help you get everything fixed up super quick. My mom is the same way. I can never relax when she comes over. She constantly makes me work on home projects.

I looove pink! Esp. fuschia, like in many of the photos here. I painted a futon in my home office bright pink and have no regrets. It makes me so happy every day to see such a jolt of bright happy pink on a large piece of furniture. That said, half of my household is male so I do try to limit the pink around the house.
