Traveling Thursday: De Witte Lelie Hotel, Antwerp

dewitte

I’m always dying to go somewhere and since about a year ago, I’ve been itching to go to Antwerp. I’m so inspired by all the great design that’s been coming from Antwerp over the years (Martin Margiela, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten – three of my all time favorites) that I think it’s a must for me the next time I’m in Europe.

Plus, Belgium has the world’s best chocolate and beer. I’m not normally a big consumer of chocolate or beer but I am when I’m in Belgium! Oh, and we can’t forget the frites. Also the best in the world.

Being the center of style that it is, it’s no surprise that there are some very fashionable places to stay in Antwerp. De Witte Lelie Hotel has caught my eye for its gorgeous, understated decor and traditional architecture.

It’s just so elegant, isn’t it?

Happy Traveling Thursday and bon voyage!

I can see why you'd want to go there… can I come, too?? Beautiful – the architectural details are incredible… and I love the contrast between the more traditional and elegant rooms downstairs and the simple, beamed bedrooms upstairs… Sigh. Add it to the list (the-getting-ever-longer-and-longer list)..!

Love the architecture and the simplicity of the decor they chose. The clean lines and neutral color palette is divine. Just a couple of days ago I was picking up a few pieces for my winter wardrobe. Four out of the ten pieces I purchased were by the designers you mentioned plus Bruno Pieters as well. So much beauty and talent!

    Love Traveling Thursdays!

I utterly LOVE this. I so want to go to Antwerp. M0851 (the Canadian, high-end leather goods retailer) has a small hotel there. Weird, I know. I want to stay there…
