For Those Bubble Baths

ticklish

We have a large walk-in shower in the master bath and it’s the perfect set up for most days. But every now and then, I do like a luxurious bath and for that I have to go to the guest bathroom. So in a perfect world, I’d have a tub like these in the mater bath.

Who doesn’t like a claw foot tub:

Sleek, modern ones appeal too:

Maybe I could just put a tub in the bedroom?

Or not.

Do your tubs get a lot of use?

Not sure I like the one with the mirror at the end. The last thing I want to look at is me in the all-together!! I love soaking in a tub but the reality is I never do. Who has the time? I do enjoy it when on the odd occasion we are holidaying in some luxury hotel. I fill the tub, lock the door and relax.

I notice that in the case of all the clawfoot bath images, they are photographed through a doorway with a glimpse of the painted door or doors. The texture and colour of that painted wood (I love those greys) really help to soften the bathrooms and give a sense of entering a sanctuary. But that's an aside. Bathroom no. 4 for me please!

I never use a bath – only shower – though I LOVE the modern ones that aren't attached to the wall. I could almost get into it (no pun intended). I just don't like it when baths have showers attached to them. I like the 2 to be stand alone.

Admittedly, I'm more of a shower girl. But perhaps, if my tub and bathroom more resembled number four, then a bathing queen I might become! :0)

I'm a huge tub lover! Last year, we installed our first tub and it is the greatest finale to my long days!

I'm going to move into the first image!

my tub bath has lots of use. it's so nice to spend time in it with my favourite bath tea (from wittard of chelsea). and now that winter is comming to town… even better.

i would love to have the first one in my bedroom. next home i buy i'll have to have a bath tub like that one in my bedroom with a mirror like the one on the 8th shot.

    great post.

Hey, So I'm loving the tub in the bathroom and the one with that large mirror. Because I live in a really old apartment building, (an old school from 1930) I'm ummmm, shy about putting my tuckus on a place that's seen a lot of foot traffic. It's a shame because I really love baths- hot steaming baths and lots of candles are so relaxing. I wonder if I can resurface the tub to give that shiny, porcelain look. Who knows? I am actually open to suggesstions!

We have a claw foot bath and it does feel luxurious saoking in it…and for a moment, just a moment mind, you forget that the bathroom needs to be gutted because of the uber bad DIY renovation it suffered! Lovely post.

Jennifer: Good point. I know I wouldn't want to look at myself like that!

Julie: I'll post it to you right away. ;)

mise: Very observant of you. I didn't notice that but you're right, it's a great effect.

Lindsey Lou: I can relate to that from my days of living in old apartments. I'm useless at DIY so I'm sorry I can't help there but I'm sure there are ways to resurface yours. Keep us posted!

karly: Not long ago I drafted an entire post about a hotel (the one in Barcelona) then saw it on your blog! You're welcome to any pics, of course.

So many gorgeous options, how could I pick just one? But the 4th image, with the gray/taupe walls behind the glass doors, that would be where I would love to be found soaking away.

I’m so glad you posted this today because god knows I need a relaxing bath! I think I’ll daydream about these instead of folding the laundry and packing for a work trip :)

Love the little tulip table as a bath side table!

I lust after clawfoot tubs… Some day we'll have one. But the truth is, I personally take showers rather than baths… But I'll do anything for a beautiful vintage tub – I'll even take long baths, if I *have* to! ;)

I've never been a tub gal, but it's probably bc we've never had one in our bathroom. The one in the kids' bath is hardly relaxing with the squirters and boats and barbies stashed nearby. I think if I had one of these dreamy tubs, I'd find my bubble bath gene!
