Simple White Guest Rooms

www.fromtherightbank.com

We have guests coming from Paris to stay with us next week and so I’m going to spend a good part of the weekend getting things ready for them. (And dusting off my French! Eek!) It seems like I redo the guest room each time we have a guest and this time is no different! You might remember I added some green to the guest room less than 3 months ago.  Well these days, I’m really into the idea of a really simple, all white (surprise, surprise!) room like these.

I like this idea of a guest/magazine storage room! Would you enjoy staying in one of these? What’s your idea of a nice guest room?

I hope you have some summer fun planned for your weekend. See you again on Monday!

Guest rooms should always double as something else then they are a bit more lived in. Prerequisites for me are very clean crisp linen, some magazines and books carefully chosen on the bedside table, and COMPULSORY ITEM a water glass and water. Plus extra blanket or throw for people who feel the cold.

I can see why you like white, those pictures are beautiful. I'd love to stay in any of them.

Have a lovely time with your friends.

I like your three month ago guestroom, but looking at these images above, what is most beautiful is the effect of the sunlight.

So if it were my room, I wouldn't compete with the sunlight – I'd take away the black and go for a paler, chalkier green for a tranquil bright look. And yes to magazine storage, if it's as orderly and lovely as the last photo.

All the rooms are beautiful – I'd be happy to stay in any of them. Here in Southern Spain, most houses (interiors as well as exteriors) are painted white – to deflect the sun's rays. The effect is very calming (essential in the current heat!)

Hope you have a great time with yr friends!

Oh how I love a white room, you're picks are gorgeous! Love the 4th room… I may have to add that to my inspiration folder. I hope you have a lovely weekend Alek, i'm going to (hopefully) decorate a bit too! :)

I would stay in any of these rooms – I like the first one best since the light would wake me up – I have a tendency to oversleep…whoops! Have a super weekend!

I would love to stay in any one of them, especially if you were the host! :0)

Actually, the last one might be my favorite. I was going to post that very same room yesterday. You know, great minds and all that! ;0) I love the idea of a mini-library to get lost in and I think white is the perfect color palette- dreamy and serene!

I love the idea of a magazine room, but I'm not an all white girl. Would have loved to stay in one of those though!

Haha, I know, that letter is hilarious, huh? It's definitely been great "meeting"!! We're going to my uncle's estate in Sweden this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to it! Will definitely take lots of pics! :)

Hope you'll have an awesome weekend!

these rooms spell serene — love them. and with all the crisp whites, there's also the needed lived-in touches of personality like the map, the vintage suitcase, and that cool antler hanging display. i love the magazine storage idea best with the shelves. hope you have a great time with your friends, alek!

    Hi Alek,

Love your inspiration rooms. Sometimes the serenity of white is the best (especially during the summer months), when we need a timeout from our hectic lives. I am sure your guests will appreciate your tending to the details. Have a great weekend….and remember, they are coming here to see you.

Totally love an all-white room. In fact, I live in one.

Nice for a guest room – temperature control, quiet, a place to put your junk, no pets creeping in at night to lick your bare toe sticking out from the covers and scaring you to death.

I love these guest rooms – the white and the simplicity of the design. I think guest rooms are the most fun to decorate because you can be more adventurous – after all it is normally a place to stop for a couple of days so there is no chance to tire of the decor. I love browsing magazines and always have those in my guest room – maybe that is because I cannot throw them out!

I love the room with the white walls but the dark floorboards… that to me is a brilliant combination. And magazine storage? Well, if I kept all my magazines in my guest room there wouldn’t be any room for the guests (Oh, wait, that’s right… I keep my magazines in the guest room and there is no space for the guests!)
