September To Do List, August Recap And Some Misc. Bidness
Can you believe tomorrow is September? Where did the summer go? Here’s what I got done on my August to do list. (In case you’re new to my blog, I keep monthly to do lists and revisit it at the end of each month.)
AUGUST TO DO LIST
1. Toss magazines older than 1 month. [I think I need to give this up. At least for a while. I'm NEVER going to catch up.]
2. Clean the rest of the filters in the house.
3. Organize important documents and papers.
4. Move bookshelf into guest room.
5. Move sideboard to kitchen area.
6. Hang Tord Boontje curtains. [I still can't decide where I want it.]
7. Move striped rug back to the living room.
So I didn’t get to everything but I actually did something not on the list which was to organize my dressing area.
I even broke out the camera and shot some details.
And by popular request (and by “popular” I mean like 3 people), here’s a little shoe porn. And yes, I’m a label whore. I admit it.
I couldn’t resist the gold heel/silver strap combination.
And these are now the highest shoes I own. LOVE.
I decided that I’m not going to tackle any big projects in September and instead do a lot more organizing. Â Here’s what I’m hoping to get done.
SEPTEMBER TO DO LIST
1. Organize important documents and papers.
2. Organize pantry. I just can’t seem to keep it neat. Am I the only one?
3. Organize vanity drawers; toss old makeup.
4. Organize master bathroom drawers.
5. Organize travel toiletries. Prepare a set ready to go.
6. Organize office supplies.
On another note, what do you think of the new banner? For the moment, I’m kind of liking just the simple black text with no images. But I’m also thinking I might like to have something designed. [Anyone interested in volunteering some graphic design services?] 
And finally in wrapping up August, I’d like to thank Macy at Me Oh My and Trish at Under Lock and Key for blog awards this month. Thank you girls, I really appreciate it!

I really like the b&w simplicity. There are lots of people who do banners but they seem to be mostly of the found objects style. New rule for you for your to do lists – any one which has not been done for more than three months running should be banished forever. Then you won't feel bad. For example I am sure you are never going to organise your important documents! Tee hee.

I can't seem to keep my pantry organized. Or my frig. Stange, bc it's the same stuff always going in. Not sure why I can't seem to just find it's place and repeat. Hmmm…
I'd be happy to fiddle around with your banner when/if you want a change. I'm no professional, but I think it's fun. I am liking the simpleness of what you have up though. And I like the little matching signature line below your post. Nice touch! (Wondering how you did that?

Your dressing table is gorgeous. I am crazy in love with your Lanvin shoes and the black one are also stunning. I love the strap across the arch…oh baby! The beauty with shoes is that they do not have to be worn. I have shoes that I take out on occasion and place them on my dressing table and enjoy them that way-is that nuts? I love the simplicity of your new banner, very clean and distinct. I am not a pro though and you should probably seek the advice of a professional cause branding is such an important part of it all.

Love the shots of your organized 'dressing area'…they look like pictures in a magazine! I too love having an organized dresser-top so I can see my favorite perfumes and lotions. It makes them look even more sumptuous!

I had to laugh – your to do list is so similar to mine! I love the dresser results though. beautiful. I too have a silver tray full of pearls. It's the perfect effect (decor you can wear – what could be better?).

Your dressing table is so pretty! I like to-do lists — all through school I did this, giving myself dates and tasks so that everything would get done. It was mostly effective, although perhaps slightly ambitious at times! I still do this, always in notebooks to keep my thoughts, ideas, and tasks in order.
I must say, your shoes are sooooo pretty! Wow!

I have a shoe problem as well. My high-end lovelies are all lovingly packaged in their boxes in my closet. They are almost too beautiful to wear, wouldn't you say?
