Feeling A Little Blue
Not to worry, I mean I’m feeling blue, literally. In addition to the blue and white stripes that I mentioned earlier in the week, I find myself liking just a splash of blue here and there.
Especially when it’s paired with yellow or red. It’s a primary thing, I guess.
Do have a favorite shade of blue?
I don’t know about you but I am so looking forward to some down time this weekend! Our guests are gone, I finished a major work project and my dog seems to be doing better (he got really sick on Wednesday but he should be jut fine). So there’s going to be some serious R&R around our house the next couple of days. Hope you have a great weekend. I’ll see you Monday!

Duck egg blue is my fave (no surprise there??), but royal blue is also amazing. I almost like every shade of blue, except the more dirty looking ones. Love the rug in the first pic. J.Adler, right?

I'm "feeling" these touches of blue as well! Especially that large scale, graphic artwork in the first pic. Hope your pup recovers quickly and you all get some time to put your feet, or paws, up! :0)

i am feeling the dark blues lately. navy, midnight, blue/black, peacock. i am going to paint my buffet F & B's hague blue and can't wait to get started. that living etc photo is a fave of mine. what is it with us white loving girls suddenly loving a dark blue wall??

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your dog but I'm glad he's feeling better. You've found great examples of blue accents, and I agree, it looks fantastic with yellow. Enjoy your weekend!

I'm so glad your pup is feeling better! I am in love with the Danish modern bedroom in the 4th pic. That yellow bed rocks! My favorite blue changes every couple of years. It used to be periwinkle (I painted a bedroom and adjoining studio this color a few houses ago). Then it became turquoise, which I still love. Now I'm really into a gray with a tiny hint of blue, the color I just painted my kitchen. I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

Hi Alek. Been feeling a little blue myself. Like Marsi…I'm a sucker for a gray blue too! But I have to admit, as of late, the deeper hues of blue are really doing it for me. I am toying with the idea of a deep blue (my fav and my best mentioned peacock. I believe that's it) mixed with a burnt orange. Love that idea!

I have never really used blue before, but I just saw a dining room in navy with gold accents and it looked so dramatic and glamorous! Something to experiment with some time.

I love blue as an accent, as soon as my Fiance and I move next moths after our wedding I plan to decorate in mostly browns and taupe, and use blue for throw pillows, area rugs and other accents.

Those pops of blue are fantastic. I adore blue, especially grey-blues like my fantastic antique armchairs which seemed to be upholstered in a rather dull mink (which I planned to change) in the pictures online when I bought them, but turned out to be an elegant smoky blue when they arrived.

As you know, I am a lover of all white interiors. In the last few years I've had to give in a bit because my husband has insisted on injecting some color into our decor. Our master-bedroom walls are a grayish blue color and I actually like it. I have all white bedding with silver and some lucite accessories throughout. The wall color is the perfect hue for a colorphobic person like me:-)

Blue is slowly creeping back into my life as well. I pulled a few pieces out of storage to perk me up a bit. Our guests just arrived so I understand your need for some 'down time'. I get so tired of cooking I could scream!

Love love love blue! I am having the hardest time thinking forwards to winter and fall colors because I've been especially in love with blue this summer! It's a pretty wonderful problem to have I suppose!

Well I love all blues… particularly deep dark blues. And Cobalt blue. I think it depends on my mood how deep the hue, but really anything that reminds me of the sea. Have a good rest!! Julie

I don't really have a favorite blue, but at the moment I am really into very greyish blue and teal. I'm thinking about adding some blues into our livingroom (I can't seem to decided which colors I want to use there!). Getting well wishes for your dog and I hope you had a relaxing weekend!
