Outdoor Lounging, New York Style

If you need me this weekend, you can find me sipping cocktails at one of these rooftop lounges.

The Peninsula Hotel:

Somewhat surprisingly, I kind of like the Chinoiserie chic thing it has going on.

Then there’s the High Bar:

and the Gansevoort:

The decor here is just so-so in my opinion but look at the views!

And last but not least, there’s Mad46:

I love the canopied seats and all that greenery:

New York in the summer means rooftops for me. Where are you hanging out this summer? Wherever it may be, enjoy your weekend! I’ll see you Monday when I’ll do one more post from New York.

Give me Mad 46 any day. Like the modern Balinese influence. And in chilly Melbourne we will be in front of an open fire all weekend and rugged up in cashmere and also more scratchy knits until probably early September. (Sigh).

Totally love rooftop spaces in NYC. The one of the Peninsula hotel is great! Unfortunately the whole of Manhattan shares this love, so these spaces get ridiculously crowded to the point where it isn't relaxing. :(

One day!! I'm so glad you found me so I can visit here and wish I was in NYC. I have never been but .. one day. I think would have to go 'Mad46'!

OK, honestly, this is too much for me. I can't stand not being there, drinking on a gorgeous patio on the 45th floor of a gorgeous building with nice weather and the NY skyline. You are torturing me!!! :-)

Amazing! I'm sure you're going to have a great time in the city. I'm heading in tomorrow for a shopping day with my sisters and mom!

It's not a rooftop, but I heard they added a sand/beach section to the seaport, which has become quite the hotspot at night.

I'm jealous. There, I said it. New York, rooftops, cocktails…*sigh* But I do have that very same outdoor sofa on my screened porch from pic number three. However, my view is the brick on the side of my neighbor's house. Doesn't quite compare to the skyline of the Big Apple. Oh well, perhaps I can trick my imagination into believing it's actually a sweet little townhouse in the city.;0)

    Have a wonderful weekend, Alek!

gosh, love those spaces, those rooftops spaces!

i'm especially drawn to that canopy seating. very romantic, very elegant. but they're all gorgeous really. have fun in new york…i'll be plunked on a beach on cape cod, watching seals and surfers, where people spend big bucks to hang out, and i have access all year round :) i'm the lucky duck i suppose!

    Great post and pics!

We are off to NYC in September for the third time and we will certainly be checking out these fantastic rooftop spaces!

We didn't make it to the Peninsula Hotel bar last time.

    I love New York!

    I feel a mojito coming on…..or 3……
