Gray And White Rooms

On the heels of Friday’s post, I’m really loving gray with white right now.

It seems to work well in any setting.

I used to associate gray with fall and winter as in gray flannel and wool.

But I’m realizing that it doesn’t have to be heavy.

And when it’s paired with white, the effect is actually quite light.

I think it really is my favorite neutral.

What’s your favorite neutral?

I really really love the 3rd and 5th images! I don't do a lot of neutrals (i'm more of a fanatic about lots of color), but if I had to pick one it would be a crisp white. I am doing a little gray and white in my kitchen now, I've recently become obsessed with white sheets, and minus the purple walls, my bathroom is gleamingly white.

Hi Alek! Great images! Grey really does seem to work with so many styles and all year round! I love the chandeliers in the 2nd and 4th pics, the windows in the 1st and the mirror in the last! My favorite neutral would probably have to be beige linen right now! But grey is definitely up there!

These are so pretty…especially the last three. And I want, desperately WANT, a wall of windows just like those in the first shot. Hey you can throw in the balloons as well, makes for a nice party atmosphere!

My favorite neutral, you've stumped me. I'm such a die-hard color fanatic. But I'm starting to veer toward the gray side and of course, crisp, clean white is always a classic.

p.s.- thanks for the link love

White, white, white. Or actually that creamy milky shade that's just a tad warmer and gentler. I love creamy shades darkened with cappuccino-mocha colours too, although I have nothing in those colours myself, it just looks nice and cosy like living in a cup of hot chocolate.

As you know, I'm in a grey phase too. But that second pic has to be the most realistic/practical (practical?! on an interiors blog?!) usage I've seen. I can see that working in the "real world"; ok so white floors might be a bit tricky to keep clean but that dark grey sofa is gorgeous and you can imagine lounging on it for years, and potentially fitting into any scheme should one change one's wall colours.

There, that's my comment for the day! xx

i adore these. I think that i prefer the grey and white interiors to the stark black and white look. I love the 2nd image and That fantastic bedspread – that could be a fine knit dress..

I do love these, and I think the white makes all the difference – it prevents the accessorising of charcoal with purple and yellow, which was a fad I never bought into. Whatever my favourite neutral was before I saw these photos, it's now grey. It looks ever so classy with gilt.

Very best grey paint color is Chelsea Grey by Benjamin Moore (Historical Colors) It's the most incredible shade of grey. Add white trim = soooo dreamy!
