Summer Houses

I had been undecided between a cabin in the mountains and one on the water but I think because it’s summer, all I can think about is the water. There are spots in the Pacific Northwest that look just like this and I’m determined to find my own! At the very least, I’d like a view of some water.

A house on a barge would certainly provide some nice views.

Wouldn’t it be nice to look out your window and see this?

Okay, I don’t even want to think about all the laws and regulations around something like that.Â
How about just a cabin with a little dock like this then?Â

That might just be doable.

Congrats on your new blog look! This post reminds me so much of Port Angelas, Washington. I am hoping to be able to head out there again this summer.
hello Alek! thank you for your sweet comment at my place
these images look like they could be in scandinavia… at least my last weekend's getaway was in a nature like that. so lovely, so calming, i could live in a place like that… atleast a couple of months a year, and with a fast broadband
have a lovely day!!

I love houseboats, and those are phenomenal! We were actually looking into a houseboat instead of building another cabin. We finally decided against a houseboat, but take a look at this one, http://charliesdesigndiary.blogspot.com/2009/01/h… They are super cool and are transported anywhere in the world. The price was also amazing in comparison to the building costs and architects and so on. I will keep my fingers crossed that you find your cabin soon.
Oh…the first one looks AMAZING. I am a complete sucker for woods+water, it's always so calming and you get the best of both worlds…a little hiking followed by a nice swim. It also reminds me of Maine. Ok, I'm starting to do some serious daydreaming here have a good rest of your day!
Hmmm i don't think i would ever be cranky if i woke up to that glorious view every day!!
Yes, please. Such a nice thing to comtemplate.
There's something so relaxing about being by the water. The mountains have a sense of permanence and grandeur but I think I'd pick the water almost every time… (except skiing season
)
I have just been gripped by "summer house envy"!!
definitely on the water
p.s. i'm all about starting an orange club, maybe we should think about some sort of collaboration like once a month make a post all about orange things or something…i'm serious:)
ok love that barge!!!
love how the blog is looking too!!
xoxo
congrats on the new domain! how sweet is this little thing, gorgeous!!
Gorgeous photos. They remind me of Lake Tahoe!
PS I awarded you on my blog
Rachel and Candi: It very well could be that part of WA or Lake Tahoe – both of which really are stunning locations.
Tiina: I think most of these are photos are of Scandinavia – which explains why I love them! I think I should just pick up and move there!
Charlie: That houseboat is phenomenal! How fun would it be to have one? Maybe I shouldn't have dismissed the idea so quickly . . .
Like the new place! I'm telling you the coil hose has changed my life
Plus Target carries two colors, beige and green!
oh how lovely! i'd so much rather be there than at my desk infront of my computer right now…good thing i'm moving back to paris in a couple months and have that to look forward to

You are certainly in the right area to find a neat house barge! I just love them…, specially the ones you show here that seem to have privacy.

i would take any of the above;) i love your blog!!
LOVING this last photo… it makes me want to move… or at least buy a vacation home… le sigh!
